Before I knew it, a month had passed since arriving in Sweden, and daylight saving time had ended, signaling the arrival of winter. The weather forecast predicts snowfall starting this week. I still remember during my second week in Stockholm, the red and yellow leaves began to appear. The weather was sunny those days, and I was eagerly waiting for the most beautiful moment to photograph the autumn foliage. Unfortunately, Stockholm remained overcast afterward, and though it didn’t rain much, the lack of sunlight made for less-than-ideal photos. On the weekend just before the snowfall, the long-awaited sun and blue sky finally returned. Though I didn’t have work that day, I grabbed my camera and headed to Stockholm University to capture the autumn leaves.

I kept waiting, and before I knew it, autumn was almost over.

This is Stockholm University, where I go to work on weekdays.

People you wouldn’t normally meet or get to know in Sweden, because you really don’t know many people. But that day, I ran into a friend at the university—such encounters must be fate.

A view that you think will last forever turns out to vanish in an instant.

This was my first and last autumn in Sweden.

Cherish this one and only chance, and realize that many beautiful things in life disappear in the blink of an eye.

While waiting for something even better to come along, you don’t realize that the most beautiful moment has already passed.

Lately, whether in Hong Kong or abroad, I’ve enjoyed taking slow walks and appreciating the little details.

This is the scene of commuting to work a few days later when it started snowing—one side had autumn leaves, the other snow. Though there was no blue sky, this sight is even rarer.
