Haga Park

Haga Park is located in Solna, about 1 kilometer north of central Stockholm. Designed by the renowned 18th-century landscape artist Pipoel, its main features include spacious grounds and abundant natural scenery. The park houses several former royal pavilions, all known for their delicate and charming designs.

The Queen’s Pavilion, built in the 19th century and now called Haga Palace, was once a venue for royal activities. It is now frequently used by the Swedish government for important meetings or as lodging for visiting foreign dignitaries. The park also features several Eastern-style buildings, mainly in Turkish architectural style. On a hill by the lake stands the “Chinese Pavilion,” which was originally the “Copper Tent” where the king’s guards were housed. Its decoration and exterior resemble an ancient Chinese military camp, but it is built from wood. On a small island at the southern end of the park lies the Royal Cemetery, the burial site of deceased Swedish monarchs. The late King Gustaf VI Adolf, who passed away in 1974, is buried here. The entire park extends approximately 2 kilometers along the lake, with towering trees, expansive lawns, and beautiful scenery. In summer, it is an ideal place for walking, swimming, and sunbathing.
