Junibacken Children's Theme Museum was founded by Staffan Götestam and is located on Djurgården Island in central Stockholm, Sweden. It was officially opened by the Swedish royal family on June 8, 1996, and is one of Sweden’s most popular and child-friendly tourist attractions.

Junibacken Children's Theme Museum is dedicated to Swedish children's literature, showcasing characters and stories created by famous Swedish children's book authors—especially Astrid Lindgren—as well as other renowned Swedish writers. Stepping into the museum feels like entering a fairy tale world where characters like Alfie Atkins, the Moomins, and many other adorable storybook figures await you. Children can run around and climb freely in Villa Villekulla, dress up as fairy tale characters, or even ride Pippi Longstocking’s horse. Departing from the Vimmerby Station, this fairy tale train takes visitors into the magical world of Astrid Lindgren and the homeland of Pippi Longstocking.

The museum offers guided tours in English, Finnish, German, Russian, Dutch, Italian, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese.
