The building that houses the Swedish Army Museum is a 17th-century arsenal that was originally used for the production and storage of cannons. It is a rectangular, beige-colored historic structure with a prominent round dome at its center, resembling the domes of many churches. The museum primarily showcases Sweden’s military history, including modern military strategies that have maintained the country’s neutrality and the Swedish Army. Specific exhibits include life-sized soldier models from past centuries, as well as displays of wars the Swedish Army has been involved in, weapons, uniforms, cipher machines, and other war-related artifacts. A special room within the museum displays war trophies won by the Swedish Army during the 17th and 18th centuries, along with flags captured from defeated nations.
