Introduction The history of the cathedral dates back to 1047, when it was built on the site of the original Chapel of St. Michael. Major expansions began in 1226 and continued for two and a half centuries, resulting in a structure that combines various architectural styles from the Romanesque period to the height of the Gothic era.

The cathedral is magnificent in scale, measuring 110 meters in length, 50 meters in width, and 26 meters in height. The pillars of the nave are adorned with statues of Jesus’ twelve apostles. Transportation From the southeast corner of the Grand Place, walk straight along Montagne de la Cour (Montagne Berg) for about 200 meters, then turn right at a large intersection to reach the cathedral.
