Every two years, Belgium hosts a grand Flower Carpet Festival in its capital, Brussels. Volunteers meticulously arrange hundreds of thousands of Begonia flowers to form a massive floral tapestry, attracting tourists from around the world who flock here to witness this breathtaking masterpiece. In addition, there are spectacular light and sound shows as well as fireworks displays.

The Flower Carpet Festival is a major event in Brussels. This biennial event, now in its 21st edition, sees 120 volunteers lay nearly one million flowers in just four hours within a 75-meter-long and 25-meter-wide space.

This year’s Flower Carpet Festival is themed around Mexico, with floral arrangements inspired by the city of Guanajuato. Guanajuato boasts a rich floral culture and tradition. In the evenings during the exhibition period, synchronized lighting and music performances will take place, and the nearby City Hall building will be open to visitors for a panoramic view of this rare spectacle.
