The David and Alice van Buuren Museum (Musee David et Alice van Buuren) is a gem highly appreciated by connoisseurs. It was originally the villa of a Dutch-born banker couple who were also enthusiastic supporters of literary and artistic endeavors. The structure is built in the Dutch Art Deco style and constructed entirely from select materials and precious woods. Inside, there are valuable paintings displayed in order of their significance.

At the David and Alice van Buuren Museum, you can see another version of Bruegel’s “The Fall of Icarus,” as well as masterpieces by Van der Auwera (Laeredam, Saint-Martin), who was a friend of the couple. The villa’s garden includes a maze, a rose garden, and a vineyard. If you’re spending a day in Brussels, it would be a pity not to visit this museum and follow in the footsteps of the Van Buurens.
