Belgian Comic Art Center

The Belgian Comic Strip Center chronicles the history of Belgian comics. The center is located in a former department store (Magasins Waucquez) in Brussels' commercial district, showcasing comic works in French, Dutch, and English. This historic building, designed by Belgian Art Nouveau architect Victor Horta, houses a shop, research library, and restaurant on its ground floor.

All areas of comic art are covered, including science fiction, westerns (wild west), crime, politics, and children's comics—such as The Smurfs. Several exhibitions have been held here about Belgium’s most famous comic characters Tintin and Snowy and their creator Hergé. The style and history of the Tintin comics are presented through sample works, life-size character models, and scenes from the Tintin adventures.
