Kluane National Park and Reserve and Tatshenshini-Alsek National Park comprise a vast, ecologically pristine area in Canada, spanning 97,000 square kilometers, and retaining their untouched natural state.

Wrangell-St. Elias and Glacier Bay National Parks are both located in Alaska and, together with the other two parks, are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mount Saint Elias extends into most of the protected areas and boasts many tall peaks, including Mount Logan, which rises 5,959 meters above sea level and is the highest mountain in Canada. The moist Pacific monsoon brings abundant precipitation and snowfall, forming extensive ice fields and glaciers. Thirty-six major rivers flow through the region, carving through its mud and rocks and shaping its terrain.

Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve is located at the border between Alaska, USA, and Canada, and includes a series of glaciers. Established as a national monument in 1925, its purpose is to protect the glacial environment and local vegetation for public recreation, scientific exploration, and historical research. The park features massive tidewater glaciers and diverse biological communities; vegetation changes progressively from rugged, snow-covered alpine zones to coastal areas covered with lush temperate rainforests. The area is home to a variety of wildlife, such as brown bears, black bears, mountain goats, whales, seals, and eagles.
