Karnaphuli River
Attraction Introduction
Also translated as "Karnaphuli River." A river in southeastern Bangladesh. It originates from the Arakan Mountains of Myanmar, flows southward and southwestward through the Chittagong Hill Tracts, and empties into the Bay of Bengal 16 kilometers south of Chittagong. It is 270 kilometers long. The average flow rate at the river mouth is 4,560 m²/s.
Features
Features numerous canyons and rapids. The Kaptai Dam is built at Kaptai Village in the upper reaches, and the downstream channel is 200–330 meters wide.
