Patenga Beach is located about 14 kilometers from Chittagong, a major seaport city in Bangladesh, and sits adjacent to the mouth of the Karnaphuli River, the main river in southeastern Bangladesh. It is the most famous beach in Chittagong and one of the most popular tourist attractions.

The beach is well-developed, featuring comprehensive tourism and living facilities along with excellent services. Currently, parts of the shoreline have been fenced off, and there are lighting installations at night, allowing visitors to enjoy the night sky and listen to the sound of the sea. The area around Patenga Beach is lush with greenery and blooming flowers, offering stunning scenery. The seawater is crystal clear, and the soft sand on the beach is very comfortable to walk on. It is also one of the best spots in Chittagong to watch the sunrise, attracting many locals and international travelers who rise early to witness the dawn.
