Wakhan Corridor

Attraction Introduction

A narrow strip of territory in northeastern Afghanistan. It stretches approximately 300 kilometers from east to west and is as narrow as only 15 kilometers at its southernmost point. Its eastern end borders China, its northern boundary is formed by the Panj River and its tributary, the Pamir River, separating it from Tajikistan, while its southern boundary is marked by the ridgeline of the Hindu Kush Mountains, bordering Pakistan. It was designated as a “buffer” zone between Britain and Russia during 1895–1896.

Most of the area consists of mountains, featuring stunning scenery and making it an ideal retreat for rest and relaxation.
