Karakum Desert
Attraction Introduction
A major desert in Central Asia. Located on the eastern shore of the Caspian Sea in Turkmenistan. It covers an area of 350,000 square kilometers. The region has a temperate continental arid climate, with annual precipitation of less than 200 millimeters, and potential evaporation that is 3 to 6 times the amount of rainfall. Most of the area consists of fixed ridge-like sand dunes, which are 3 to GO meters high, with a small portion consisting of hummocky sand terrain.
Features
The vegetation is sparse, mainly consisting of drought-resistant, early-growing grasses, wormwoods, and shrubs. The region also has resources such as oil and natural gas.
