Visitors to Intramuros can step back in time as horse-drawn carriages transport them through its streets, gates, harbors, and fortresses. The area exudes an elegant Spanish atmosphere and preserves ancient architectural features. Within the walls are Manila’s largest church — Manila Cathedral, San Agustin Church and Museum, Fort Santiago, Rizal Shrine, and more.

Transportation

Intramuros is located on the southern bank of the Pasig River near the entrance to Manila Bay.

Light Rail: To reach Intramuros by LRT, get off at the United Nations station and walk for 20–25 minutes.

Taxi: You can take a taxi to get there; taxi drivers are generally familiar with the area.

Jeepney: You can take a jeepney bound for Bonifacio Drive.
