Attraction Introduction

Pipa Island is located 13 kilometers west of Rajin and 6 kilometers northwest of Pioneer, with a beach on its southern side. The water here is as clear as a pond, and the fine sand stretches across the shore. A wooden pier connects the beach to the opposite side of Pipa Island. The island lies low and flat, giving the initial impression that it is connected to the mainland. Its name comes from its shape, which closely resembles the musical instrument pipa (a traditional Chinese lute). This island is also called “Wave-Sheltering Island,” and due to its silhouette resembling a whale floating on the sea, it is also known as Whale Island. Behind the beach is the foothill where Pipa Restaurant is located.
