The Dubai Fountain is located on the surface of Dubai Lake near the Burj Khalifa. With a construction cost of $2.18 million, installation and testing began in February 2009, and it opened to the public in mid-March. To date, the performance repertoire of the Dubai Fountain continues to grow. The fountain stretches 275 meters, and its nozzle arrangement is quite unique, as they are distributed along two arcs of different lengths and curvatures, as well as five circles of varying sizes.

The lighting used in the Dubai Fountain is primarily white water lights. Additionally, the fountain employs 25 color projectors, arranged five per circle in the five circular areas. The Dubai Fountain shoots out 22,000 gallons of water, accompanied by 6,600 lights and 50 color projectors. The water jets feature over 1,000 different variations, making it truly ever-changing. Accompanied by a variety of Arabic and international songs, the spraying water jets appear to dance gracefully before the audience. Each show features different music and choreographed movements—sometimes resembling a group of slender maidens dancing elegantly; other times like a line of warriors moving in perfect unison with powerful vigor; and at other moments, all the jets shoot up together in a majestic and spectacular display. Especially when Arabic music plays, rows of thin water jets sway to the upbeat yet slow-tempo tunes. It's a blend of music, dance, and fireworks.

The Dubai Fountain is the tallest and most spectacular musical fountain in the world to date.
