Taksim Square is the largest square in Istanbul. It is a sacred place in the hearts of Turkish football fans, where they have both wept and rejoiced. The square serves as a bridge between the Turkish people and sports, and with the Olympics. Whenever the Turkish national team competes, tens of thousands of fans gather here to celebrate the brave spirit of their players.

Taksim Square is located on İstiklal Avenue in the heart of Istanbul. This historic city square has witnessed countless major events and exciting moments, and has undoubtedly become the cultural center of the city. To the south of the square stands the circular Independence Monument, which commemorates the founder of the Republic—Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the beloved "Father of the Turks." Lifelike bronze reliefs depict the great leader’s legacy. On major holidays, many Turkish citizens spontaneously lay wreaths here. To the north of Taksim Square lies a vast open area that was once a large cistern. Adjacent to the square is the grand brown Atatürk Cultural Center. To the west is Taksim Park, which was once a large artillery barracks during the Ottoman Empire. Crossing Republic Avenue leads to the former parade ground of the barracks. After World War II, this wide-open space was preserved. In recent years, luxury hotels and high-rise buildings have sprung up here.
