Dolmabahçe Palace

Dolmabahçe Palace was built in 1843 and completed in 1856. Located by the Bosphorus Strait, it covers an area of 45,000 square meters and is the largest palace in Turkey. The palace contains 285 rooms and 46 halls, divided into three sections. From the seaside view, the left side is the state affairs section known as the Mabeyn-i Hümâyûn, the middle is the Ceremonial Hall (Muayede Salonu), and the right side is the Harem-i Hümâyûn (Imperial Harem). From 1856 to 1922, Dolmabahçe Palace served as the administrative center of the Ottoman Empire.

Dolmabahçe Palace combines the finest elements of Baroque, Rococo, and Neoclassical architectural styles, integrated with traditional Ottoman design. Its overall layout and decoration reflect the profound influence of European styles and standards on the cultural and artistic domains of the Ottoman Empire. However, in terms of functional use, the palace still retains characteristics of a traditional Ottoman imperial residence. Both the exterior and interior of Dolmabahçe Palace are exquisitely detailed in every "corner", showcasing royal grandeur and luxury, making it one of the most famous royal palaces in the world. Today, it is open to the public as a tourist attraction, drawing large numbers of domestic and international visitors. However, entry is limited to a restricted number of people, and many tourists are willing to wait in long queues under the scorching sun just to catch a glimpse of its majestic presence.
