TurkuaZoo Aquarium

TurkuaZoo Aquarium is located within the Forum Istanbul shopping mall in Istanbul. Opened in 2009, it was Turkey’s first public aquarium and, at the time of its completion, was the largest aquarium in Turkey as well as in Asia.

The aquarium cost a total of 17 million euros to build, covers a floor area of 8,000 square meters, and houses nearly 25,000 aquatic creatures across 10,000 species, including freshwater fish, saltwater fish, and tropical fish. There are 30 sharks from five different species alone. It is reported that, in terms of the number of aquatic animals, the aquarium ranks first in Europe. The facility features 23 aquarium tanks of various sizes and an 80-meter-long underwater tunnel, where visitors can enjoy a 270-degree panoramic view of marine life. Without needing to put on a wetsuit or dive, visitors can immerse themselves in this underwater paradise and closely observe a wide variety of sea creatures.
