Seven-Colored Waterfall in Chiang Mai

The Seven-Colored Waterfall is located in the Mae Taeng District of Chiang Mai and is part of the Mae Taeng National Park. The waterfall originates from Rainbow Spring (also known as the Seven-Colored Spring), which contains a high level of calcium carbonate. As the water flows down, the calcium deposits on the rocks. The calcium carbonate makes the rock surfaces less slippery. Believe it or not, although these rocks look smooth, they are actually easy to walk on, and there’s no risk of slipping even as you approach the waterfall. Even if someone were to pour cement over the rocks, it would harden underwater rather than sticking to the surface. Bua Tong Waterfall is a highly worthwhile attraction to visit. But don’t come just for the waterfall—be sure to explore the beautiful forest as well. Entry to the Seven-Colored Waterfall is free once you’ve purchased a ticket to Mae Taeng National Park.
