Highlights: The Datong Coal Mine was awarded the first batch of "National Industrial and Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site" plaques and certificates by the National Tourism Administration, becoming the first underground industrial tourism project in China’s coal industry to receive this designation.

Introduction: The Datong "Underground Coal Mine Exploration Tour" showcases a thousand years of coal mining history. The main attraction is located more than 300 meters underground in the Jurassic coal seam, which dates back 140 million years. The site features six working faces in sequence: primitive mining, blast mining, conventional mining, high-grade conventional mining, fully mechanized mining, and comprehensive tunneling. All working faces use actual tools and equipment from real production, and through live demonstrations by coal miners, authentically recreate the coal extraction process of different eras. Visitors can also put on miners’ uniforms and experience the real life of coal miners.
