Tashan Chanfang Temple

Tashan Chanfang Temple is located on Tashan in Qifeng Mountain, west of Shangwuzhai Village, Kouquan Township. Also known as Longquan Guan, it is a Taoist temple. Originally, it housed the Three Pure Ones Palace and the Bodhisattva Imperial Palace, with four cave-style architectural structures in the temple complex. Most of these no longer exist, but the Tashan Pagoda remains largely intact. The pagoda stands 15 meters tall, has an octagonal shape, and features a stone foundation, a brick body built from the first floor to the top, and floral carvings around it.

Currently, Shangwuzhai Village in Kouquan Township plans to develop a tourist area centered around the Tashan ruins, the Laoyaogou Red Tourism Site, the Qifeng Mountain Yulong Cave, the Bai Dong Village agritourism project, and the Qifeng Mountain TV transmission tower among other nearby attractions.

The Tashan Pagoda stands 15 meters tall, has an octagonal shape, and features a stone foundation, a brick body built from the first floor to the top, and floral carvings around it. The stone steles have weathered over time, making the inscriptions difficult to discern, but the pagoda base remains in good condition.

There is no clear record of when the Tashan Pagoda was built, but based on its architectural style, it is believed to date back to the Yuan Dynasty. Legend has it that the third sister of the Mongolian chieftain Lengzhen Dawang built the pagoda while practicing Buddhism here.
