Datong Yungang Grottoes Museum

The Datong Yungang Grottoes Museum is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Datong Yungang Grottoes Museum, designed under the direction of architect Cheng Dapeng, is located on the western side within the Yungang Grottoes scenic area in Datong City, within the protected landscape zone. It is one of the sub-projects of the overall renovation of the Yungang Grottoes site.

The museum consists of a series of intersecting arches, each with a width of 4 meters and a span of 40 meters. The exhibition hall features a single-story, large-span space, built 6 meters underground with its highest point reaching 5.8 meters above ground. The southern performance center has been reconstructed on the site of the original ancient city ruins.

Off-season: 80 RMB/person (November 1 – March 31 of the following year))
