Located at the border between Nanzih District in Kaohsiung City and Qiaotou County, Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park covers an area of approximately 35 hectares. It features vast, open grasslands and forested green spaces, as well as meticulously landscaped facilities such as a swimming pool, ecological exhibition room, family playroom, and library. A prominent landmark within the park is the ingeniously designed "Golden Rooster Sundial" statue of the Chinese zodiac, standing in the central plaza. Beneath the golden rooster is a bronze-cast bas-relief depicting the analemma.
