Pier-2 Art Center

“Pier-2” refers to the No. 2 berthing dock located within the Third Pier of Kaohsiung Harbor in Taiwan. Built in 1973, it was originally a general port warehouse. Starting in 1995, it was taken over and operated by the Kaohsiung City Bureau of Cultural Affairs to promote cultural and artistic activities.

In 2000, Pier-2 Art Center was discovered and developed, gradually evolving into a unique open-air art space near the coast.

Introduction

The artist studios, visual and performing arts spaces, and dining facilities in Pier-2 Art Village are all renovated from the original warehouses, retaining their weathered metal doors and exposed concrete walls, showcasing the authentic appearance of the harbor city.

Pier-2 also frequently hosts various distinctive art exhibitions, painting shows, sculpture exhibitions, and concerts.
