Boula Hot Spring

Boula Hot Spring is located in Xinfa Village, Liugui Township, Kaohsiung County, in the valley of the Boula Stream, a tributary of the Laonong River. It is a weak alkaline carbonated spring with excellent water quality — colorless and odorless. Aside from being suitable for bathing, it can also be consumed as a drink, though only in moderation.

Due to its secluded mountain setting, Boula Hot Spring does not attract many tourists, so it has preserved its primitive form and tranquil atmosphere. Currently, there is a Boula Campsite set up on the river terrace of the Laonong River, offering camping and barbecue facilities. Xinfa Village also has hot spring inns. In addition to vacationing, Boula Hot Spring offers three hiking routes to choose from: one is a climb up Meilun Mountain, which stands 1,350 meters high and takes about two hours and twenty minutes — ideal as a morning hike, with the reward of watching the sunrise from the summit; another is a 40-minute walk to the Lover’s Tree; and the third is a trail from the resort to the Twin Falls.
