Liuhe Night Market

Liuhe Night Market is located in Kaohsiung City. It is about a ten-minute drive from Kaohsiung Railway Station. Travel straight along Zhongshan Road, then turn right onto Liuhe Road to reach the market. Originally known as Daguangpu Night Market, it began as a cluster of food stalls set up on an open lot in Daguangpu, downtown Kaohsiung, gaining popularity in the late 1940s to early 1950s. Recognized as one of Kaohsiung’s most iconic night markets, the Kaohsiung City Government has designated the area from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. daily as a pedestrian-only zone since 1987, marking the beginning of Liuhe Night Market’s transformation into an internationally renowned tourist night market.
