Dream Mall

Dream Mall is a shopping center located in Cianjhen District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. It was opened in 2007 by the Uni-President Group. As the largest shopping mall in Taiwan, it covers a site area of 15,155 pyeong, a total floor space of 121,000 pyeong, and a retail area of 78,000 pyeong, with 4,500 car and 2,500 motorcycle parking spaces. It has been selected by Forbes Traveler, a publication under the U.S. financial magazine Forbes, as one of Asia’s Top 10 Best Malls.

The architectural design of Dream Mall is inspired by nature. The granite exterior of the main rear building evokes the timeless image of the Earth and stone, while the glass curtain wall of the front Blue Whale Pavilion reflects the rhythm of water and sky, resembling a giant blue whale swimming into the Golden Coast. The two buildings are connected by pedestrian bridges on the east and west sides, linking foot traffic and commercial opportunities, much like a grand ship entering the treasure trove that is Kaohsiung Harbor. Between the two structures lies a custom-designed boutique avenue that offers an interior streetscape perfect for flagship stores, along with an open-air performance stage, creating a shopping atmosphere reminiscent of New York’s Fifth Avenue. This makes it one of Asia’s most internationally advanced mega shopping centers.

In addition to the mall itself, another highlight of Dream Mall is the “Kaohsiung Eye” located on its rooftop. The Kaohsiung Eye is one of the few Ferris wheels in Taiwan with sea views and is the third-largest Ferris wheel in the country. Riding it to enjoy the ocean scenery is one of the most popular attractions for visitors.
