Guia Hill

Guia Hill

Guia Hill is located in the southwest of the Macau Peninsula. It has an elevation of 62.7 meters. To the west is the Inner Harbour, to the northeast it faces East Guia Hill across Nam Van Lake, and to the south it connects with A-Ma Hill. The centuries-old A-Ma Temple is situated at the southwestern foot of the hill, and the granite boulder landforms on the back slope of the temple area feature many stone inscriptions created by notable figures. At the summit stand the Chapel of Our Lady of Guia built in 1622 and the Bishop’s Palace added in 1935, which is why Guia Hill is commonly known as Bishop’s Hill.
