The Garden of the Macao Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau Headquarters

The Garden of the Macao Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau Headquarters is designed in the style of traditional gardens from Portugal and Goa, inspired by the layout of Macao’s historic courtyard-style gardens. At the center of the garden stands a stone sphere resembling an armillary sphere, one of the symbols of the Portuguese presence around the world. The surrounding walls are not only adorned with Portuguese tiles but also covered with climbing plants, creating a delightful scene.

A romantic-looking fountain captivates visitors, featuring two rock-carved portraits on the walls from which streams of water flow into the pool below. On either side of the garden stand busts of poets Luís de Camões and João de Deus, surrounded by lush greenery and shaded by palm trees, forming a picturesque scene.

Located within the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau Headquarters, the garden attracts many visitors. Inside the headquarters' auditorium, portraits of several former governors can be seen. While touring the library and art gallery, visitors often make their way into the garden to stroll and admire the scenery.
