Mong Há Municipal Park

Mong Há Municipal Park (also known as Mong Há Hill Park; colloquially referred to as Blackie Hill Park) (Portuguese: Parque Municipal da Colina de Mong Há), is a park located on Mong Há Hill in the Macao Special Administrative Region.

The original site of Mong Há Municipal Park was a dense natural woodland, with parts of it previously serving as heavily fortified military facilities and barracks. Since the artillery fort had once been a camp for African-Portuguese soldiers stationed in Macao, it was colloquially known as Blackie Hill Park. The fort ceased operations in 1960, and by 1974, when the Portuguese garrison in Macao was recalled to their home country, the barracks were left abandoned and vacant. In 1979, the Macao Portuguese government took over the barracks and converted them into a guesthouse for overseas public workers. Later, in 1995, with the establishment of the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies, the guesthouse was repurposed as a training facility. In June 1997, the Macao Municipal Council developed mountain trails and redeveloped the hill area into Mong Há Municipal Park.
