April Snow is Coming Soon！ The Miaoli Hakka Tung Blossom Festival Kicks Off Next Month

 

This year’s concert incorporates theatrical elements, featuring performances by top-idol Bi Shujin, who ranked among the top ten in album sales last year, along with diva Gary Chen (Chen Shian), Hakka songstress Judy Chu (Zhu Lijing), film score maestro Fan Zongpei, emerging Hakka singer Zheng Chaofang, and popular children's entertainer Sister Puff. Singers will use stage props to present scenes of love, memories, leisure, celebration, and nursery rhymes under the tung blossom trees. There will also be a performance by the cross-genre ensemble, Lu Fu Orchestra, showcasing a brilliant fusion of Eastern and Western instruments.

 

The Tung Blossom Concert will also feature the concept of tung blossom landscapes for the first time. In addition to a large tung blossom windmill landscape installation at Tonghua Park, Miaoli County is inviting visitors to create their own tung blossom-inspired landscapes using fallen blossoms. Simply take a photo of your creation, check in on Facebook, and have it verified by staff to receive a roll of washi tape featuring Miaoli’s distinctive tourist attractions. DIY tung blossom windmills will also be available on-site, so that the spinning windmills in visitors’ hands become moving floral scenery within the park.
