Bodhi Garden

Introduction

The Bodhi Chan Temple is located at the foot of the Qitan Highway in Taipa and is the largest temple in Taipa. The temple houses the largest statue of Sakyamuni Buddha in Macau. The lotus base of the statue is 5.4 meters high and weighs about six tons, cast in bronze. The Buddha's left hand rests flat while the right hand is raised outstretched, presenting a dignified and benevolent expression. Outside the garden courtyard, there is also a Thai-style Four-Faced Buddha. The temple complex covers a large area and includes not only the Mahavira Hall and several other shrines, but also vegetable fields and a dining hall. The dining hall is open to the public during mealtimes, where visitors can also enjoy vegetarian meals.
