Tacheng Tabei Mountain, located to the north of Tacheng City, is thus known as the "Northern Mountain." The Northern Mountain range lies along the border between China and the Republic of Kazakhstan (divided by the watershed), and though not particularly high, it serves as an excellent summer pasture for Tacheng City. There are many attractions for visitors to the Northern Mountains. Deep within the mountains lies a pristine forest where ancient trees tower and the murmuring sound of streams is tucked away in the lush greenery. Some of the more famous scenic spots include the Woyijiailao Grassland, Kezibeti, and Shimenzi. The valleys of the Northern Mountains are shaded by dense tree cover, with mountain streams either winding through massive boulders or cascading down in waterfalls — silver ribbons hanging in the air, splashing water droplets everywhere. The slopes are covered with thick, green grass dotted with colorful wildflowers. Clusters of blooming peonies, fritillaries, and lilies create the illusion of wandering through a vast garden. The Northern Mountains receive abundant rainfall, boast rich pastures, and enjoy a cool climate. Various scenic spots are connected by simple roads, making it an ideal destination for summer and autumn travel.
