Yining People's Park, also known as "West Park," is located in the middle section of Ahemaidiang Street and the western end of Stalin Street in Yining City. Established in 1937, it covers an area of 18 hectares. The park features ancient towering trees, lush flowers and grass, a serene environment, and a full range of recreational facilities, making it a great destination for visitors to relax and have fun.

Directly facing the park’s main entrance is a large circular flower bed where colorful blooms vie for attention, as if welcoming every visitor. Surrounding the flower bed is a horseshoe-shaped woodland area dozens of meters wide. The tall, graceful trees form a sea of lush green that highlights the flower bed, enhancing its charm. Winding paths crisscross through the woodland, inviting leisurely strolls. Following two circular paths beside the flower bed and passing through the shaded woods, you’ll cross a small bridge to find four straight parallel paths extending forward. Between the middle two paths lies a soft, carpet-like green lawn enclosed by hedges, within which grow many evergreen pines and cypresses. The other two paths are lined with ancient towering trees on the inside, and benches are placed throughout the woods for visitors to rest. At the end of the four paths lies a circular fountain, where the rockery features several playful children—some hugging a big carp, symbolizing the happy life and abundance (in fish and fortune) of the people of Yining. Around the fountain are gracefully swaying weeping willows—some like dancing maidens, some like shy lovers gazing tenderly—creating a poetic atmosphere.

In the eastern part of the park is a large Ferris wheel, where riders can ascend gradually in cabins and enjoy sweeping views of Yining’s scenic beauty from the top, offering a delightful experience. The central area features a simulated spaceship ride, where passengers feel as if they’re truly venturing into space when the ride tilts and spins—truly thrilling. There’s also the “Crazy Mouse” ride, delivering genuine excitement and adrenaline. To the west is a modern swimming pool, providing a perfect escape from summer heat and a luxurious way to cool off. Further west lie the zoo and a botanical garden spanning over a hundred acres, including greenhouses and floral houses. Here, exotic flowers and plants from around the world compete in beauty, especially the beloved roses of Ili, with over 100 varieties alone. During spring, summer, and autumn, various blooms in the greenhouses and flower fields burst into color—some as white as jade, some as red as fire, some golden and translucent, some dark green like ink... Each exhibits unique charm and posture: some graceful, some upright, some flowing, some unrestrained, some proud, some shy, some contemplative... A sight that inspires endless admiration and makes visitors linger without wanting to leave.
