Yining Silk Road Cultural Tourism City is a city tourism complex project centered around culture, integrating folk customs, intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, multi-ethnic performances, specialty cuisine, entertainment, themed hotels, and more. It is also the first privately-run museum in China with the largest construction scale and exhibition area dedicated to Kazakh ethnic culture and lavender culture.

The "Silk Road" was an ancient overland trade route that originated in ancient China and connected Asia, Africa, and Europe. Among them, the "Land Silk Road" in Xinjiang is divided into southern, central, and northern routes according to its path. It served as the overland trade channel connecting the Chinese hinterland with various parts of Europe, formed between the 2nd century BC and the 1st century AD, and remained in use until the 16th century. It was a major thoroughfare for economic, political, and cultural exchanges between the East and the West. As an important pivot city on the Silk Road, Yining showcases the prosperity of the ancient Silk Road. The main ethnic group here — the Kazakhs — whose ancestors, the Wusun, were the principal tribes forming the Kazakh people, made significant contributions to protecting the Silk Road, a vital passageway between the East and the West. Scenic Spot Distribution:

The Silk Road Cultural Tourism City consists of multiple attractions within the urban area, covering an area of 285 acres. It includes the Ili · Silk Road Museum, the Kazakh Ethnic Culture Museum, the Ancient Silk Road Culture and Food Street, the Lavender Museum, and others. The Kazakh Ethnic Culture Museum is divided into 8 exhibition areas, housing over 1,000 cultural relics and exhibits dating from the Wusun era to the present. The Lavender Museum is divided into four exhibition halls: Lavender Culture, Bionic Garden, Performance Hall, and Perfume Blending Platform. The Food Street is composed of two parts: Chinese Han-Tang-style antique architecture and Western Region ethnic-style buildings, featuring large-scale sculpture groups, ground reliefs, and ethnic-characteristic gateway landscapes. There is also the Aile Grand Theater and the Silk Road Western Region Tourism Specialty Center, where visitors can enjoy ethnic performances and purchase specialty goods.
