Baghdad Mausoleum

Introduction The Baghdad Mausoleum is located in Serek Village, Doru Township, Luopu County, Hotan, approximately 3.5 kilometers from the county town. It is said that the mausoleum houses the tomb of Baghdad, hence the name Baghdad Mausoleum.

The Baghdad Mausoleum consists of a prayer hall and a graveyard. The graveyard is enclosed by woods and named “Maisu.” The prayer hall complex has front and rear entrances, a 12-meter-high gate tower and minaret, with a construction area of 334 square meters. Additionally, there is a dining hall and three dormitory rooms. Currently, the prayer hall and 330 acres of graveyard remain.

It is said that the Baghdad Mausoleum was built during the Ming Dynasty. In 1957, it was designated as a key cultural relics protection unit of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region by the People's Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
