Artificial Haloxylon Forest
The Artificial Haloxylon Forest is a green Great Wall in the Qitai Desert. Stretching 3 kilometers from the edge of the desert and extending 65 kilometers from east to west, it forms a vast ecological barrier. The shifting sands have been brought under control, and 600,000 mu of fertile farmland are no longer threatened by wind erosion. This green barrier, undulating and expansive, is painted with layers of forest and rolling hills covered in verdant ridges. It is now more than just a beautiful landscape — it blends seamlessly with the national “Three-North Shelterbelt Program Phase IV” in northwestern China, creating a magnificent sight. It safeguards human habitats, reflecting a safer living environment and a more harmonious coexistence between people and nature.
