Daotiaoling Scenic Area

The Daotiaoling Scenic Area in Qitai is located on Chepaiziliang in Banjieguo Town, Qitai County, Xinjiang, nearly sixty kilometers from the county seat. It earned its name because of its long mountain range and pointed peak, which resemble a horizontal broadsword lying across the land. Daotiaoling is famed for its pine waves, sea of clouds, and steep cliffs. The combination of cultural and natural landscapes creates a refreshing and mesmerizing experience that visitors find hard to leave.

The Qitai Daotiaoling Scenic Area is divided by two streams of water, with startling views surrounding all sides of the mountains. The mountains are exquisitely beautiful and gracefully elegant. In midsummer, when a gentle breeze sweeps over Daotiaoling, beyond the dense primeval forests that blot out the sky, the grasslands and farmlands—stretching near and far—merge into a vast green ocean, making it hard to tell where the pastureland ends and the cropland begins. Green envelops Daotiaoling, green permeates Daotiaoling; mountain flowers crowd around Daotiaoling, and their fragrance intoxicates it. From the swaying green grass emerge colorful blooms, especially those bright alpine flowers that look like crimson clouds floating in the air.
