Taole Film and Television City is located in Taole Town, Pingluo County, situated between the Yellow River and the Mu Us Desert. Built close to the Yellow River, it is a fusion of nomadic and farming cultures, as well as Yellow River and desert cultures. The film city, nestled by sand dunes and the river, boasts rich and unique tourism resources, making it a distinctive emerging cultural tourism attraction in Pingluo.

The film city’s tall city walls, grand gates, numerous shops, and imposing government offices recreate the historical features of old Ningxia. To date, scenes such as the Town Office, Government Courtyard, Horse and Carriage Inn, Three-in-One Foreign Firm, Tavern, Headquarters, General’s Building, Courtyard House, Golden Fortress, and Wooden Plank Bridge have been completed. Among them, the Ningxia Prefecture area mainly features antique-style architecture, exuding an old-world charm. The film base has well-developed infrastructure and comprehensive facilities, meeting the scene requirements for film and television production. Its creatively designed shooting locations are rich in cultural significance, offering strong visual appeal and opportunities for visitor participation. Since 2010, four production crews—including the TV series "Golden Fleece" and the movie "Sunset Over the Three Borders"—have filmed scenes here. Other productions in the “Ningxia Quartet” alongside "Golden Fleece," such as "Western Bandit King," "Red Treasure," and "Chrysanthemum Drunk," are also planned to be filmed at this location.

The film city has a strong northwestern regional character and incorporates the cultural and geographical features of Pingluo. It serves as a new type of film base along the Yellow River urban belt, integrating film and TV production, local opera performances, role-playing experiences, mass cultural entertainment, and tourism. It has become an important cultural tourism destination on Pingluo’s Golden Shore tourism route along the Yellow River.

Transportation: Visitors can take a minibus to Taole from Yinchuan Bus Station or a public bus to Taole from Pingluo County Bus Station, then get off at Taole Town. Alternatively, you may drive there by car.
