Miaomiao Lake is a cultural tourism attraction.

Miaomiao Lake is located 15 kilometers north of Taole Town in Pingluo, adjacent to Etuoke Banner in Inner Mongolia. It is bordered by deserts to the north and south. The area earned the name "Miaomiao Lake" because natural spring water was dammed to form a lake, and the site features an oboo (sacred stone heap) built by Mongolian herders and a temple where nuns practice and chant scriptures.

Since 2009, Ningxia Tianyuan Fuzang Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. has invested 150 million yuan to develop and construct the Miaomiao Lake scenic area. The project is carried out in three phases, mainly including water diversion to the mountain, road hardening, power line installation, water-saving irrigation, ecological greening and construction, desert control and farmland improvement, as well as tourism and summer resort development projects.

Miaomiao Lake Ecotourism Area is located within the Mu Us Desert and is known as the "Holy Lake in the Sea of Sand." It is a new-style ecotourism destination. The area is divided into the Central Oasis of Sandy Springs, Desert Adventure Zone, Sand Flora Sightseeing Zone, Sand Therapy Zone, and Lakeside Resort Zone. Currently developed and constructed sites include Lingquan Temple, Sanwen Pavilion, Jiulong Pavilion, and Lotus Pond; over one million plants have been planted, including peonies, tree peonies, pines, cypresses, evergreens, and various flowering shrubs and trees; infrastructure for tourism sightseeing projects such as road maintenance, ecological greening, and water-saving irrigation has also been completed.

Here, you can fully enjoy the beauty of the desert landscape and experience the charm of a "hidden paradise." The sunset scenery of the northern desert — "vast Gobi, long rivers, and setting sun" — is truly captivating.
