Bayi Water Tower

Bayi Water Tower is situated in Chengnei Village, Yancheng Town, Wuzhai County. From the early years of New China to the 1960s, the city’s water supply depended on well-drawn water and water from dams. In 1970, the water company constructed an 80-ton water tower, a 300-ton reservoir, and installed pipelines stretching 2,000 meters around the city, providing around 500 tons of water daily—marking the beginning of tap water usage. The existing water tower has a circular floor plan and a T-shaped façade, with a base diameter of 5 meters, wall thickness of 0.5 meters, a height of 22 meters, and covers an area of 12.53 square meters. It is a brick-concrete structure, with the words “Bayi Water Tower” in bold regular script prominently embossed in cement on the top, bearing distinct characteristics of the era.
