Dong’ershang Grottoes

The Dong’ershang Grottoes are a cultural tourism attraction.

The Dong’ershang Grottoes are located about 1,000 meters west of Dong’ershang Village, Qiansuo Township, Wuzhai County. The exact time of their construction is unknown. According to local villagers, the grottoes were carved during the Qing Dynasty. They face south and have a rectangular layout, measuring 4 meters in length from north to south, 3.5 meters in width from east to west, and 2.5 meters in height, covering an area of 14 square meters. Three sides of the cave are equipped with Buddhist altars, which are 0.8 meters high and 0.5 meters wide. On the outer walls of the grotto, there are circular holes on both sides, and above the cave’s lintel there is a horizontally carved stone groove that is 5 meters long and 0.12 meters wide, believed to be remnants from the wooden structures built at that time. In November 2001, the People’s Government of Wuzhai County designated the site as a county-level cultural relic protection unit.

Qiansuo Township: "A township under the jurisdiction of Wuzhai County. It was part of Nanfeng Commune in 1958, became Qiansuo Commune after being separated in 1982, and was established as a township in 1984. Located in the southeastern part of the county, it is 5 kilometers from the county seat. Covering an area of 64 square kilometers, it has a population of 9,000. The Yang (Fangkou)–Ke (Lan) Highway passes through the township. It governs 12 village committees: Qiansuo, Yousuo, Nanping, Gushan, Zhangjia, Gejia, Xuejia, Duzui, Nijiawa, Jiubao, Fuzigou, and Bianqiangzi. The main agricultural crops are corn, potatoes, and sorghum. The area is known for producing onions, which are sold across various regions. Facilities include a seed farm and a machinery station."
