Nanwa Water Well

Nanwa Water Well, located in Nanwa Village, Sunjiaping Township, Wucai County. The year of its construction is unknown. According to villagers, the well has been in use since the Qing Dynasty. In 1985, it was renovated with funding from the county’s Water Resources and Soil Conservation Bureau, and a cement monument was erected on the east side of the well. The well opening is square, with sides measuring 0.8 meters, covering an area of 6.4 square meters. It is supported by a crisscrossed structure resembling the Chinese character "又", with a horizontal axle set at the intersection. The front section is equipped with a windlass head, while the rear is fixed into a stone pillar. The well rope and other auxiliary components have been replaced with modern materials. Nanwa Water Well is the village’s sole source of drinking water.
