Prince Hall on Luya Mountain

Prince Hall on Luya Mountain is a cultural relic protection unit of Wuzhai County.

Prince Hall on Luya Mountain is located atop Luya Mountain in Dong'er Village, Qiansuo Township, Wuzhai County. The exact date of its establishment is unknown. According to a stone tablet, it was rebuilt in the eighth year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1669), and another stone plaque in front of the hall records that it was renovated in the 25th year of the Daoguang reign (1845). It faces north. The hall is 3.5 meters long from south to north and 3.5 meters wide from east to west, covering an area of 12.25 square meters. Only one hall building remains today, featuring a square floor plan and constructed from red sandstone slabs. It is a single-bay structure both in width and depth, topped with a pyramidal roof. Its interior consists of a stone-vaulted structure, a Sumeru pedestal Buddha platform base, a stone arched gate, and a hanging stone plaque inscribed with "Prince Hall." The upper inscription reads “First Month of the Locust Flower (May) in the First Year of the Guangxu Reign (1875), Propitious Dawn,” while the western side bears “Initiated for Renovation by Wen Qu, Magistrate of Ningwu Prefecture, from Changbai.” On both sides of the gate are engraved couplets: “Spreading the Merciful Cloud over the Central Land” and “Pouring the Dharma Rain upon the Frontier Regions.” In 2001, the People’s Government of Wuzhai County designated it as a county-level cultural relic protection unit.

Qiansuo Township: "A township under the jurisdiction of Wuzhai County. In 1958, it was part of Nanfeng Commune, became Qiansuo Commune in 1982, and was established as a township in 1984. Located in the southeastern part of the county, it is 5 kilometers from the county seat. Covering an area of 64 square kilometers with a population of 9,000, it is traversed by the Yangfangkou–Kelan Highway. It administers 12 village committees: Qiansuo, Yousuo, Nanping, Gushan, Zhangjia, Gejia, Xuejia, Duzu, Nijiawa, Jiubao, Fuzigou, and Bianqiangzi. Agriculture mainly focuses on growing corn, potatoes, and sorghum. The area is known for onion production, which is exported widely. Facilities include a seed farm and agricultural machinery station."
