Zhacang Hot Springs in Hexi Town, Guide County, commonly known as Hot Water Gully. Nestled between two peaks, boiling water gushes from crevices at the bottom of the gully, accompanied by rhythmic spurting sounds, with temperatures reaching up to 93°C. Hot bathing for therapeutic purposes began here as early as the early Ming Dynasty, boasting a history of over 600 years—100 years earlier than the "Number One Hot Spring under Heaven," Anning Hot Springs in Yunnan. For centuries, its remarkable healing properties have attracted numerous patients from both within and outside the province to come and bathe and seek treatment. The spring water has been shown to be particularly effective in treating chronic rheumatoid arthritis, various tendon strains and neuralgia, sequelae of spinal cord paralysis and polio, gastrointestinal diseases, as well as skin conditions such as psoriasis, diffuse eczema, and pruritus.
