Xijiadun Site

Xijiadun Site

The Xijiadun Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Qinghai Province.

The Xijiadun Site is located in Group 1 of Xijiadun Village, Heyin Town, Guide County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. The site covers an area of approximately 300×200 meters, with a cultural deposit layer about 50 centimeters thick. Pottery fragments are scattered across the ground, and ash layers are exposed on the cliff faces, containing numerous animal bones, pottery shards, and river pebbles. The pottery fragments include sand-tempered double-handled jars, four-handled jars, urns, li-tripods, and other fragments. Based on the pottery, it is identified as belonging to the Shangsun type and Dazhongzhuanzhuang type of the Kayue Culture. In the center of the site lies the ruins of the Nanhai Hall from the Qing Dynasty, which was later leveled during land consolidation, causing some damage to the site. It is a provincial-level cultural heritage protection unit.
