The museum covers an area of 2.6 hectares, with a building area of 7,360 square meters. The museum has two floors above ground and one underground, consisting of several sections: the Ancient Tombs Exhibition Hall, the Han Dynasty Stone Reliefs Exhibition Hall, the Bronze Ware Exhibition Hall, the Ceramics Exhibition Hall, the Cultural Relics Central Repository, and the Cultural Relics Research and Training Center. The collection includes over 2,000 cultural relics, with nearly 200 classified as precious. Among the highlights are Han Dynasty stone reliefs unearthed from Mapuzhuang in Lishi and Yangjiaping in Liulin, Lüliang. Additionally, bronze ware from the Shang Dynasty feudal states and ceramic ware from kiln caches discovered in the Lüliang region are also significant parts of the collection. The first floor houses the lobby and exhibition halls, displaying over 100 Han Dynasty stone reliefs and more than 40 funerary objects. The second floor contains four exhibition halls showcasing over 50 pieces of Shang and Zhou dynasty bronze ware and over 80 locally excavated ceramic items. The Ancient Tombs Hall is located underground, covering 160 square meters, and features reconstructions of two typical Eastern Han Dynasty stone relief tombs excavated in Lishi. The total exhibition area is 2,700 square meters. The museum receives over 20,000 visitors annually, including more than 10,000 students. It houses an office, logistics department, archaeology department, publicity and education department, security department, exhibition department, conservation department, and a reference room.
