Moonlight Waterfall

Also known as the Hapang Waterfall, it is located in the Dulongjiang Township, 30 kilometers from Bapo. In the Derung language, it is called “Habayeichen,” meaning “shining water falling from the sky.” The Hapwang River suddenly drops from an altitude of 3,100 meters to 1,400 meters, forming a 200-meter-high and 20-meter-wide cataract. On every full moon night, when the moon shines on the waterfall and the falls reflect the moon, it seems as if Chang’e is dancing, the Milky Way is flowing gently, and the murmuring waters create a magical scene—thus earning it the name “Moonlight Waterfall.”
