The village in the center of the First Bend of the Nujiang River is called Kantong Village. Here, the river surface sits at an elevation of over 1,710 meters, offering breathtaking scenery and forming a peninsula-like area surrounded by water on three sides. The surroundings are so picturesque that they attract many visitors. During agricultural off-seasons or ethnic holidays, groups of people come here to boat across the river, ride zip lines, sing songs, and dance. Romantic couples often slip away into the dense forests along the riverbanks to share their heartfelt feelings.

Kantong Village can be described as a paradise within the canyon, filled with idyllic rural scenery. This rare mountain spectacle in the canyon is referred to by locals as the "green gem" of the valley.
